BetKing registration: sign up by phone, ID checks and account rules

Opening a BetKing account starts with your phone number and takes a few steps.

The rules that matter come later: whose name the account carries, how many accounts one phone number serves, and when BetKing asks for ID.

This page goes through the sign-up steps, then those rules, each from BetKing’s own pages.

Is BetKing licensed in Nigeria?

BetKing is on the Lagos State Lotteries and Gaming Authority’s register under the company SV Gaming Limited. It is listed for online sports betting and online casino.

On 26 October 2026 the register showed a licence start date of 25 October 2025 and an end date of 24 October 2026 (LSLGA register).

That end date has passed. A renewal may not be on the register yet. Check the register, or ask BetKing for its current licence.

BetKing’s own site gives sports and games betting licence numbers 00000006 and 00000008. It does not name the regulator (BetKing responsible gaming controls, page footer).

If you searched for BetKing’s registration number: the company’s registration number is RC 1419108 (BetKing terms, section 1).

How to register on BetKing

Registration is free (BetKing registration FAQ). Use m.betking.com or the BetKing app. BetKing gives these steps (BetKing help: how to register):

• Step 1. Tap Join at the top right of the page.
• Step 2. Enter your phone number, after +234. Make sure it is correct.
• Step 3. Enter the code BetKing sends to your phone.
• Step 4. Set a password.
• Step 5. Enter your first name and last name “as it appears on your bank account”.
• Step 6. Enter your date of birth and state of residence. You must be over 18.

The first screen of the form also has an optional referral code field.

If the code does not arrive, check the number and resend it. You can also try Voice or Email. BetKing advises turning off Do Not Disturb (DND) on your line (BetKing registration FAQ).

You can only bet in naira (BetKing FAQ).

Who can open an account

BetKing’s terms set these conditions. You must (BetKing terms, 11.a):

• be a natural person, 18 or older when you register;
• live in Nigeria and hold a valid Nigerian identity card;
• have a bank account in your own name, for payouts;
• have no other account with BetKing or its affiliates in Nigeria;
• not suffer from gambling addiction.

When you register, you tick a box confirming you are at least 18 and accept BetKing’s terms (terms, section 4). If a user is under 18, BetKing forfeits the winnings and blocks the account (terms, section 7).

Your name must match your bank and your ID

Three rules depend on the name you type:

• Withdrawals. BetKing pays only “to an account that matches the name and identity of the User”. It will not pay to an account that does not match your registered details (terms, 12.b).
• ID checks. “The name on your BetKing account must match exactly with your ID document.” A name mismatch is the first reason BetKing gives for a failed verification (BetKing help: account verification).
• True details. You must give only true and current information, and update it when it changes (terms, 11.c). BetKing can close an account that gives false or misleading information or fails verification (terms, 11.g).

You cannot change your username (BetKing FAQ).

To change your name or other details, contact BetKing. Its newer help page says to use live chat (BetKing account FAQ). Its older FAQ says to email cs@betking.com (BetKing FAQ).

What to do: type your name exactly as it is on both your bank account and your ID.

Then save your bank account in your profile. BetKing requires at least one saved bank account for withdrawals, and the account goes through a check (BetKing help: saving a bank account).

One account, one phone number

BetKing allows one account per person. It checks for duplicate accounts and can close all of them. Its terms say “any deposit or winning in any of the multiple accounts will be forfeited” (terms, 11.d).

The phone number enforces this:

• You need a valid mobile number to register. BetKing will not open an account without one (BetKing registration FAQ).
• A number can be verified on one account only. If several accounts share a number, the others are blocked once one is verified (BetKing FAQ).
• You cannot add a second number to your account (BetKing account FAQ).

You may not share your account details or let anyone else bet on your account (terms, 11.f and 11.g).

What to do: register with your own line. If a message says your number is already verified on another account, BetKing asks you to contact live chat (BetKing verification FAQ). Do not open a new account with another number.

When BetKing asks for ID

BetKing asks for a valid ID “before winnings can be paid out” (BetKing help: KYC). Its pages name different amounts:

• Its FAQ says it may ask for ID to check your identity or age, or if you have winnings above ₦400,000 (BetKing FAQ). Its terms allow extra checks on any payout above ₦400,000 (terms, 12.b).
• Its terms require ID for winnings from ₦1,000,000 (terms, 13.c).

Plan for the stricter one: have ID ready for any win above ₦400,000.

Which ID. BetKing’s account verification page accepts a National Identity Card or digital NIN slip, a voter’s card or a driver’s licence.

The document must show your full name, photo, date of birth and document number, and must not be expired. If you use your NIN, it must be correct and registered with NIMC (BetKing help: account verification).

BetKing’s verification FAQ and its older KYC page also list the international passport (BetKing verification FAQ). The account verification page says only the NIN, voter’s card and driver’s licence are accepted, so use one of those.

Other documents. BetKing’s terms let it run security and KYC checks at any time and ask for (terms, 11.e):

• a scan of your passport or government-issued ID;
• a recent utility bill or bank statement showing your name and address;
• the front and back of the bank card used on your account;
• proof that the bank account is yours.

Requests come by email. Answer within 7 days, or BetKing can suspend the account and freeze its balance.

What to do: verify early. Go to My Account, then My Details, then Identity Verification. BetKing says “You don’t need to wait until you win” (BetKing help: account verification).

The new-customer free bet

BetKing’s help pages carry a new-customer offer (BetKing new customer offer). It is ₦100 in free bets plus 10 free flights on Aviator, an online game:

• ₦50 free bet on sports;
• ₦50 free bet on virtuals;
• 10 free flights on Aviator.

To get it, register and complete your bank profile. You must be 18 or older.

It also says the bonus comes “instantly” after your bank account check, and elsewhere “the next working day”. If you finish the check on a Friday, a weekend or a public holiday, it comes on the next working day.

Its conditions:

• It is for new customers only, and you can claim it once.
• It is limited to one customer per household. If BetKing finds accounts belonging to related people, it disables all of them and may reverse the bonus.
• BetKing can refuse the bonus to anyone with duplicate accounts.
• Free bets work only on m.betking.com and the BetKing apps.

How a free bet pays (BetKing free bet terms): you get the winnings without the free bet stake.

A free bet cannot be withdrawn or cashed out. It must be used in full on one bet, cannot share a betslip with your own money, and has an expiry date. Only the winnings from a free bet can be withdrawn (BetKing help: free bets).

This offer was not among those on BetKing’s promotions page on 26 October 2026. Check that it still runs before you count on it.

Before your first deposit

• Use a Nigerian debit card in your own name. BetKing does not accept international cards or another person’s card (BetKing FAQ).
• You must place bets before you can withdraw a deposit. The lowest withdrawal is ₦1,000 (BetKing FAQ).
• Read BetKing’s withdrawal rules first: they decide whether you get paid.
• Save BetKing’s official contacts, and deal with BetKing only through them.
• Keep your username and password to yourself. Report any use of your account you did not make to cs@betking.com (terms, 11.f).

If betting stops being fun

BetKing lists three controls (BetKing responsible gaming controls):

• Take a break. Pause some or all products for a period you choose. Unsettled bets stay active and you can still withdraw.
• Self-exclusion. You cannot log in, deposit, bet or receive marketing. It cannot be undone during the period you choose. When it ends, you must contact support to reopen the account.
• Account closure. It logs you out at once. BetKing says a closed account can be reopened by contacting support.

One warning. BetKing’s terms say that if you close your account because of gambling problems, you are banned from all BetKing platforms for good (terms, 11.g). Take that, the stricter rule, as the one that applies.
